Vampires/Yamis; Can They Have Sex?
(not nessecarily with each other)
Vampires:
Ok...I'll start with vampires cause everybody knows what they are. If for some reason you don't: They used to be humans, but after having all of their blood sucked out by a vampire, then drank some of the vampires blood, making them a vampire who lives on the blood of others. The most famous Vampires would be Dracula and Lestat. Now this is going to piss off a lot of Lestat fans...but Vampires can't have sex.
Let's go over the basic mechanics of sex. No matter what you do oral, vaginal, anal or some other variation...if there's a male involved he needs to have an erection. Males get an erection when the BLOOD accumulates in that area, making the penis hard. Here is where Vampires aren't very lucky. Vampires have to feed on the blood of the living because they HAVE NONE. Vampires having no blood can't get an erection. no erection, no sex for the male vampires. I suppose they could theroetically have sex right after feeding...but then they're playing beat the clock...not much fun but I guess it's better than nothing.
Female vampires may have a better shot at having sex. Techinically they can but they probably won't enjoy it or orgasm. In females the blood gathers in the labia and clitoris, making them extra sensitive. Technically female vampires can still have sex, whichever variation they choose (assuming they aren't trying with a vampire male for reasons explained above) but without the blood in the clitoris the chances of it being fun aren't too good.
Yamis:
This is an anime site so naturally anime stuff must be thrown in this discussion as well. Yamis for those of you who don't watch YuGiOh are spirits from the millenium items that cohabitate the owners of said items. Not all Items have a yami, only two acutually, but aparently you can also get one by going psycho revenge.
The three yamis are Yami no Yugi (aka yami), Yami no Ryou (aka bakura), and Yami no Malik (aka Marik). In the show, when they aren't taking over their hosts body they are shown as having their own translucent body that looks like an eviler form of the host (aka Hikari).
Now, in the realm of fanfiction/doujinshi, these Yamis have sex...a lot...often with their hikaris (and mind you I'm not complaining ::waves "Ryou/Bakura Angst" banner::) But the simple fact remains that these people technically don't exist. They're just spirits, sure they could have astral sex which is as good as the real thing, but not physical sex. Well they could if they took over their Hikari's body and had sex then, but then it can't be with their hikari as many like to do.
Really the only way for them to do anything is for it to be mental. Cause they only exist in the hikaris mind (I know that makes it seem like the Hikaris are crazy but they're not...maybe malik).
Damn, this is why I did the Vampires first, they're easier to explain...maybe I'll fix this up and make it coherent later, until then I'll summerize: Yamis can't have sex cause they don't have a body.
