Cosplay Drinking Game

I think it was AnimeCentral that inspired this thought…that some costumes and cosplayer types were becoming so horribly ubiquitous that it required a drinking game.   If for no other reason, than to drown your senses so you didn’t become either homicidal or extremely depressed by having to witness hordes upon hordes of the same costume over and over and over.  That’s right, dull the pain.  It’s the cosplay drinking game!

Standard disclaimer – while I have no issue with alcohol as it exists (being as I am 30 and therefore SO very legal to imbibe at my leisure) I do have serious issues with drinking to excess and public drunkenness.  So, when I say “don’t actually play this game with real alcohol” I mean it, especially if you’re underage. Trust me, there are so many more worthy things to waste your money and life on.  Like…cosplay.   But I am tempted to try it out myself with a six-pack of Mountain Dew, to see just how long it takes before I’m running to the bathroom.  The Naruto clause guarantees a full bladder in about ten minutes, I think.

Have at you! Pour yourself a drink of choice, walk into the hallway of your favorite convention, and…

Take a drink if you see…

…a red-coat costume (Inuyasha, Vash, Edward Elric, Alucard, hell even Kikyo)

…a Naruto headband. Yes. One drink for EVERY HEADBAND.

…Yuna or Rikku. Two drinks if it’s a costume other than their X2 defaults.

…an Inuyasha who didn’t bother getting a white wig. Two drinks if they’re still wearing white ears and not trying pass themselves off as “human Inuyasha.”

…any schoolgirl carrying any plushie as a substitute for the cosplayer companion she wishes she had

…a catgirl. EVERY catgirl.

…an entire costume that was obviously bought at Hot Topic.

… a “female” version of a male character which was obviously just an excuse to have their breasts hanging out.

…Chii ears….two drinks if it’s not attached to a Chii costume.

…any prop made out of cardboard…three drinks if it’s another character.

…Sexy no Jutsu anything (besides Naruto).

...A shirt with a message written in masking tape...take 2 if it's at a con with a "no signs" rule.

...a Bleach captain. NEW

...a flat keyblade (bevels people! bevels!) NEW

Take two drinks if you see…

…an attempt at being a sexified Moogle

…foam hair

…a girl crossplaying Shuichi Shindou in the yellow coat who didn’t bother to bind (no really! He’s a boy! He doesn’t have breasts like that, I swear!)

…anything using boxes of Pocky as construction material

…fanboys wearing a duel disk and claiming to be a Yu-Gi-Oh character despite lack of costume.

…a 16 yr old girl cosplaying a 30 yr old man. ( *cough* Sanzo *cough*)

…Jack Sparrow or Hogwarts kids

…gratuitous use of satin/velvet.

…one word: broadcloth.

…signs containing the word “glomp.”

…any character “neko-ized.”

...A hanyou and human InuYasha walking around together...3 if one's a girl...4 if they both are - submitted by The Dark Angel

Take three drinks if you see…

…a Gravitation group of 5 or more (finish the bottle if all of them are girls and none of them are dressed as Noriko)

…someone in a masquerade who should have prerecorded their skit.

…someone who has exceeded the weight limit of spandex. (spandex is a privilege not a right!)

…Slut!Pikachu or any other Pokemon. (note: if you find yourself about to buy said slut from their Pimp!Trainer, stop drinking – something is wrong)

…a cosplayer carrying a “yaoi” paddle who really shouldn’t.

Finish the bottle if you see…

…a good Dragonball Z cosplayer. So good it makes you take back anything bad you ever said about DBZ.

…a fanboy obviously talking to a female cosplayer’s chest (then whack him upside the head with the bottle)

If you see…

…more orange than red at a convention…drink until it all blurs together.

…someone who thinks they really are the character… drink until you believe them

...if you see a cat/angel/otherwise shirtless boy offer him a drink....and "spill"

...a person in an organization coat with the hood down and you still can't tell which character they're supposed to be, drink until you figure it out (even if you're wrong). NEW
